Vehicle DPF Cleaning & Repairs

DPF Cleaning & Fault Diagnosis

Modern diesel vehicles are fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to reduce emissions by trapping soot from the exhaust. Over time, the DPF can become blocked, causing warning lights, reduced performance, poor fuel economy, and in some cases the vehicle entering limp mode.
At our workshop, we carry out professional DPF cleaning on the vehicle using specialist cleaning fluids and equipment to safely clear blocked filters and restore them to acceptable operating levels. In many cases, this avoids the need for costly replacement.

A blocked DPF is often caused by short journeys or incorrect driving cycles, where the vehicle does not get the opportunity to complete a regeneration process. More often, the issue is caused by faults within the engine management system that prevent the vehicle from carrying out regeneration correctly.

Common causes include sensor faults, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system problems, injector faults, boost leaks, or other engine management issues. Simply cleaning the DPF without identifying the original cause can mean the problem returns.

We carry out full diagnostic testing to identify the reason for the blockage and advise on the correct repairs needed to prevent future problems.

Our success rate with DPF cleaning is very high, meaning it is unlikely your DPF will need replacing. In most cases, our cleaning process combined with accurate diagnosis can restore the system and get your vehicle back on the road without the expense of a new DPF unit.
